50 CENT GETS TOP DOLLAR AT SOURCE AWARDS

Nelly, Lil’ Kim Get Top Solo Awards
It was a lovely night in Miami as 50 Cent took home a couple of Source Awards, for Album of the Year and Single of the Year, despite having a long-running feud with the magazine, which ran an unflattering cover story in its October issue.

Fitty wasn’t at the show, but Best Group winner Lil’ Jon and the East Side Boyz performed, as did Wyclef Jean and Nelly with P. Diddy and Trina. True to keeping it real, winners names weren’t inside sealed envelopes, they were on pagers.

According to the Miami Herald, the show ran way long, but the upper deck crowd was entertained during a downtime by a woman who stripped it down.

The Source Awards were launched in 1991. This year’s show was taped for broadcast on BET in November.
