LATIN MUSIC LAUNCH: ¡EL RITMO!
¡LA PASION! ¡EL DINERO!

Netco Unfurls Site for Latin Music Fans, to Which We Can Only Say "Ay, Caramba"
In what will serve as, among other things, a tribute to our inability to put the right kinds of accent marks in our stories, Yahoo! en español has unveiled a Spanish-language version of its online music destination, LAUNCH, accessible at espanol.launch.yahoo.com.

Designed to ford the "digital divide" and bring music and video to Hispanic fans in the U.S., the site bows with the official, bilingual Enrique Iglesias Fan Club, not to mention 7,500 videos, including hot properties like Mana's "Te llavare al cielo" and Luis Miguel's "Te Necesito."

In addition, a new LAUNCHcast station offers Pop Latino, Rock en español, Latin Holiday, Salsa and Tejano for your hip-shaking pleasure.

"We believe this is an excellent opportunity to become a leader in the U.S. Hispanic entertainment space—an extremely vibrant market," proclaimed Yahoo! en español GM Jorge Consuegra. "The integration of the LAUNCH brand will allow us to deliver the entertaining music content our users want while also providing targeted solutions for our marketing and advertising clients."

Added Yahoo! VP/GM of Music David Goldberg, who was dissuaded from wearing an oversized sombrero in a photo op, "The Internet has had a tremendous impact on the music industry, from artists to fans to marketers. We are thrilled to be taking the LAUNCH experience to Hispanic music fans while also providing new opportunities for recording artists and record labels. Also, that Shakira gives me strange stirrings."

Meanwhile, the new Yahoo! Entretenimiento (that's "entertainment," anglos) will combine LAUNCH with TV, news and comics, including the popular Condorito, which is even funnier than Mary Worth. Popular online mag Lavox.com will provide exclusive content.
