Veteran A&R Exec Named RCA Music Group Senior Vice President A&R

As first reported here last week, Jeff "M. I." Blue has officially been appointed Senior Vice President A&R for RCA Music Group, reporting directly to BMG N.A. Chairman/CEO Clive Davis.

Blue will be responsible for signing and developing artists at the RCA Music Group, for both J Records and RCA Records, based in Los Angeles. Just as long as he doesn’t try to re-sign the Bogmen.

Prior to this, Blue was Sr. VP A&R at Interscope Records where he signed and produced the soon-to-released Social Code. During his tenure at Warner Brothers Records, he signed and developed Linkin Park. He had previously discovered the band, as well as Macy Gray, for Zomba Publishing where he had also secured deals for Korn and Limp Bizkit.

Commented Blue: "I’m very excited to be working in an environment in which we will dedicate ourselves to artist development and long term careers. I look forward to working with the incredible vision of Clive Davis, Charles Goldstuck and the entire RCA Music Group team. And I’m looking forward to meeting my favorite label artist, Taco. Whaddaya mean he’s no longer there?"

Added Davis: "I am really happy that Jeff is joining us. His breadth of experience in both signing and developing acts and his commitment to the relationships he forges with his artists is special and distinctive. Of course, he won’t get to do any of that here until he finishes my oral history of the Monterey Pop festival."
