MCCARTNEY TAKES HIS
BAND ON THE RUN

Sells 200,000 Tickets in Less Than 30 Minutes or Your Pizza is Free
Looks like solo Beatlemania is in full effect and Paul McCartney can still put asses in the seats, selling almost 200,000 tickets for 14 dates of his Driving USA Tour in under half and hour. That the tour includes a date in Toronto may surprise people who think Toronto is still a Canadian city, but McCartney is a rock icon and if he wants to change borders, who are we to question him?

Said Concerts West CEO John Meglen, which is promoting the Washington D.C., Tampa and Dallas dates as well as co-promoting the Los Angeles and Anaheim performances: "We haven't seen ticket sales like this in quite sometime. It's evident that Paul McCartney means as much to music fans today, as in years past. Those Wings fans are crazy."

Added Clear Channel Touring VP Brad Wavra: "Maccamania is rocking America…and part of Canada."

In addition, Capitol is slipcovering McCartney’s Driving Rain album with a new cover in time for the tour’s kick-off April 1 in Oakland.

Tickets for Cleveland, Dallas and Tampa go on sale March 16.
