Behind the runaway hit, it’s a horserace for #2, #3 and #4 as Goldmind/Elektra’s Tweet, Epic’s Celine Dion and UTV’s Now Vol. 9.

WEEK IN PREVIEW:
ASHANTI ISN’T "FOOLISH"

Spider-Man ST Spins Off Two Tracks

Ashanti, Ashanti, Ashanti, Ashanti, Ashanti, Ashanti, Ashanti… Say that about 449,993 more times and you’ll get a sense of how big the debut album from the Murder Inc./IDJ diva is. Her self-titled disc will be the runaway #1 on the HITS Album Chart this week. But don’t take our word on it—check out the April 12 edition of R&R, where the HITS Album Chart will now also appear each week.

Behind the runaway hit, it’s a horserace for #2, #3 and #4 as Goldmind/Elektra’s Tweet, Epic’s Celine Dion and UTV’s Now Vol. 9. Keep checking back on the Building Album Sales Chart, or wait and read it in R&R and (soon) on Premiere’s MusicInfoSystems.com.

Streeting Tuesday are the Goo Goo Dolls (Warner Bros.), Bonnie Raitt (Capitol) and Neil Young (Reprise).

The rocket scientists in radioland say that the Columbia/Roadrunner/IDJ/Sony Soundtrax Spider-Man ST will have not one but two big songs this week. In PoMo, most added looks like Sum 41’s contribution, "What We’re All About," followed by early adds on "Hero" by Chad Kroeger (Nickelback) featuring Josey Scott (Saliva), which officially goes for adds next week. P.O.D. will also have lots of action. In Rock, it’s also all about the Spider-Man ST.

But back to Ashanti, who will be most added at Top 40; Lots of stations are already playing it, but this is the official add week. There will also be cleanup on Interscope’s No Doubt, Jive’s Britney Spears and Atlantic’s Craig David.

In Crossover, most added looks like Epic’s J.Lo and Roc-a-Fella/IDJ’s Cam’ron, while in Urban it could be Arista’s Boys II Men and Cam’ron, which is having a huge week.

For actual airplay on these songs, look for the R&R/MediaBase charts, which will now also appear each week in HITS—marking the first time something useful will appear in the magazine.
