MCA Nashville has promoted Mark Wright from Senior VP to Executive VP of A&R. The move had been expected.
Wright, who has overseen the department since the exit last year of label President Tony Brown, reports to Chairman Bruce Hinton.
The award-winning producer and songwriter has been a part of the MCA Nashville family since 1994, when he was Senior VP of Decca Records.
"Mark truly embodies the very spirit of MCA Nashville—putting the artists and their music first and foremost," said Hinton. "His extraordinary talent and unvelievable energy bode well indeed for the creative future of MCA Nashville."
In related news, MCA has named Donnie Anderson as VP of A&R. Anderson, a founder of Future Sound Entertainment, which he continues to oversee, served as GM of Snoop Dogg's Doggie Style Records and was instrumental in bringing the rapper and his label to MCA. Anderson reports to MCA President Jay Boberg.
