U2, ALICIA KEYS STILL LEAD HITS POLL AS GRAMMY RACE HEADS DOWN HOMESTRETCH

Polls Close as HITS Readers Chime in With Their Picks for Feb. 27 Ceremony
It's all over but the counting.

While Grammy ballots were due last Friday (2/1), the HITS Grammy survey continues to take the pulse of who the industry thinks will win on Feb. 27. With U2 and Alicia Keys still in the lead, according to our survey, it's time to turn your head and cough.

U2's All That You Can't Leave Behind is holding steady in the Album of the Year category with 64% of the vote, followed by Bob Dylan's Love and Theft, down from 15% on Jan. 24 to 13% and O Brother Where Art Thou?, still at 12%. India.Arie's Acoustic Soul and OutKast's Stankonia trail with 6.4% and 3.8%, respectively. OutKast is still leading the Best Rap Album category with 57% of the total.

Alicia Keys remains in front in four separate categories. For Song of the Year, her "Fallin'" has 54% of the vote, while in Record of the Year, it has 54% of the vote. She leads the Best New Artist with a dominating 72% and leads in the Best R&B Album, where her Songs In A Minor holds a strong 10% lead over Aaliyah.

U2 continues to dominate the Best Rock Album category with 64%, down slightly over the 67% it posted on Jan. 24, while Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory is a distant second with 28% of the vote.

The very heated Producer of the Year category finds Dr. Dre now in the lead with 28%, followed by T Bone Burnett (26%), Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis (23%), Radiohead's Nigel Godrich (13%) and Nelly Furtado helmers Gerald Eaton & Brian West (9.7%). The competition in this one is so intense, our Grammy expert Paul Grein has recently changed his own pick from Jam & Lewis to O Brother's T Bone. To view Grein's picks, click here.

And finally, in the closely watched Best Polka Album category, Walter Ostanek and his Band's Happy Times is leading Brave Combo's Kick-Ass Polkas by a slim 27-24% margin.
