"The combination of Jim Ed's legendary vision in both country and mainstream music with Malcolm's proven success in contemporary Christian and gospel creates a first-rate team."

WARNER BROS. NASHVILLE
SPREADS THE WORD

Christian Labels Folded Into the Mix
Bands like Creed, the Newsboys and Audio Adrenaline sell lots and lots of records. That’s why Warner Music Group recently picked up Nashville-based Christian-music company Word Entertainment. That’s also why Warner Bros. Records has just restructured its Nashville operations.

Under the new structure, Warner Bros. Nashville President Jim Ed Norman will oversee all of WB’s Nashville-based labels, including those in the Word Label Group. Malcolm Mimms will continue to serve as President/COO of Word Entertainment and will be given the additional title of COO Warner Bros. Nashville.

While Word and Warner Nashville will continue to operate as separate entities, the Word Label Group will be able to access the resources of WB Nashville.

"When you have two Nashville-based companies, both with distinct resources and strengths, and the ability to effectively market to different segments of the music-buying public, it's clear that they can achieve greater success by working alongside each other," said Warner Bros. Records Chairman/CEO Tom Whalley. "The combination of Jim Ed's legendary vision in both country and mainstream music with Malcolm's proven success in contemporary Christian and gospel creates a first-rate team."

Added Norman: "My admiration and respect for Malcolm is surpassed only by my enthusiasm for the chance to work closely with him. From his early work representing artists to the many contributions he has made to our community, Malcolm has distinguished himself as a creative thinker and energetic force in the industry. Word has become one of the most successful music companies in the world, and Warner Bros. is uniquely positioned to give them the platform to grow even further."

Then it was Mimms’ turn: "In today's business, it is very difficult to find such extraordinary record men like Tom and Jim Ed. What makes our relationship with Warner Bros. such a natural part of Word's evolution is the commitment we share to our artists and their music. I am thrilled to be joining Jim Ed and look forward to working closely with him and the entire Warner team."

This new setup oughta work real well, God willin’.
