Top 40 radio is looking forward to a week with Vanessa Carlton’s "Ordinary Day" as the most-added track, followed by P. Diddy featuring Ginuwine on "I Need A Girl, Part 2." Also making a strong early showing is Danielle Bedingfield’s "Gotta Get Through This."

WEEK IN PREVIEW: NELLY
SELLING SWELLY

St. Louis Powerhouse Crowns
Winning Week for UMG
Check your head: As expected, Nelly’s second album for Fo’ Reel/Universal has been selling like hotcakes—or flapjacks, or whatever they call them in St. Louis.

Indeed, Nellyville will hit this week’s chart with well over 700k—probably in the neighborhood of 750k. The runaway #1 will cap yet another huge week for Universal Music Group, which, with Eminem, Truth Hurts and N.O.R.E., will command at least four of the Top 10 albums for the week. And UMG will likely own more than half of the Top 20, flexing the group’s beefy marketshare muscle yet again.

Speaking of UMG, hitting the streets tomorrow is Irv Gotti Presents The Inc, the latest from the rap impresario’s Murder Inc./IDJ juggernaut. Track "Down 4 U" is currently making serious headway at Crossover and Urban radio.

Also streeting is Green Day’s B-sides/outtake collection, Shenanigans on Reprise, which our retail prognosticators indicate will likely sell over 100k.

Meanwhile, Top 40 radio is looking forward to a week with Vanessa Carlton’s "Ordinary Day" as the most-added track, followed by P. Diddy featuring Ginuwine on "I Need A Girl, Part 2." Also making a strong early showing is Danielle Bedingfield’s "Gotta Get Through This."

And Adult formats are reeling from the splendor that is "The Rising," the first track from Bruce Springsteen’s forthcoming album of the same name, his first studio release in seven years. Those who know about such things say this one’s a bona fide smash.

In the land of Post Modern, the most-added cut looks to be Coldplay’s "In My Place," followed by Unwritten Law’s "Up All Night." Also be on the lookout for the White Stripes’ "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground."

And at Crossover, Monica’s "All Eyez on Me" will take the most-added cake, followed by Faith Evans featuring Missy Elliot on "Burnin’ Up."

After all that, we’re fresh out of fireworks. Guess we’ll have to drive to Pacoima to reload.
