RAC CONCERTS SET

The Eagles, Billy Joel, Dixie Chicks, No Doubt, Beck Among Those Set to Appear.
The lineups for the Recording Artists Coalition's "Concerts for Artists Rights" have been set.

The concerts will take place at four venues in the Southern California area and are set for Feb. 26, one day before the Grammy Awards.

The Eagles, Billy Joel, John Fogerty, Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow will perform at the Forum. The Dixie Chicks, Trisha Yearwood, Dwight Yoakam and Emmylou Harris will come together at the Universal Amphitheatre. No Doubt, the Offspring and Weezer will appear at the Long Beach Arena. Beck, Eddie Vedder and Mike Ness will play the Wiltern.

Last week, RAC and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, AFL-CIO and American Federation of Musicians members converged on Sacramento calling on legislators to support Senate Bill 1246, legislation to repeal California Labor Code Section 2855, subdivision B, because it allegedly excludes recording artists from the same protection of law afforded all other working persons in California who sign a personal services contract.

They came together to lobby for the repeal of the former amendment to the state's "seven-year" statute, which exempts musicians from the seven-year limit on entertainment contracts.
