FOOTBALL SELLS RECORDS!!!

Week in Preview: J. Lo is High, Sade is Live, Manilow Makes the Old Girls Buy and U2 Drives.
Move over Tom Brady. The biggest winner from last week's primetime Super Bowl lovefest was Interscope's U2, who are experiencing a HUGE sales spike as a result of their halftime performance. New England and Interscope both got their field goals.

Meanwhile, Epic's remixed J.Lo is looking like a big winner this week, as it prepares to debut at, or near, the top of this week's album chart. J. Lo leads a pack of Epic divas who are delivering some epic performances at retail and radio. Check out the debut numbers for Sade, the continuing power of Shakira, the steadily building A Walk to Remember soundtrack, featuring Mandy Moore, and the mighty Celine, who is now "unofficially" flying at Top 40 radio.

Also headed toward a solid first-week bows this week is Arista's Ultimate Manilow, which could find itself with in the Top Five. Being Barry, he came and he gave without taking.

Getting back to our wacky friends at Top 40, they're throwing down heavy on the new single from the aforementioned Shakira, as well as turning Atlantic's P.O.D. into an adding machine. Of course, it's not just Celine who is receiving Top 40 radio love before the official impact date—look for Arista's Pink to score massive adds before she officially hits the format. As for close-outs, no one's doing that better than Columbia's Darren Hayes, who saw a huge rotation increase last week.

At Post Modern, Columbia's Lostprophets and Pete Yorn are feeling massive radio love, while the Crossover world is buzzing over "Knoc" by KnocTurn'al, which features both Missy Elliot and Dr. Dre. Our Jamz Einsteins are screaming about action for Atlantic's Fat Joe and Columbia's Maxwell, while Crossover Editor Liz Montalbano is simply screaming.
