YOU'VE GOT MADONNA: AOL SPONSORS DIVA'S WORLD TOUR

Madonna Teams With AOL For "Drowned World Tour 2001"
If you were waiting for the fruits of the AOLTW pairing, here's "Material" proof.

Warner Bros. superdiva Madonna's upcoming "Drowned World Tour 2001" will be sponsored by parent company AOL.

The SFX-promoted tour, which kicks off June 5 in Cologne, Germany, and hits the States July 21 at Philadelphia's First Union Center, is the singer's first in eight years.

Through its partnership with Ticketmaster, AOL will offer advance tickets to U.S. shows before they go on sale. New subscribers can purchase up to two tickets beginning May 6 by calling Ticketmaster's toll-free number.

AOL will also conduct several onsite promotions at concert venues, will appear prominently in the Madonna tour book and provide subscribers with concert highlights and downloads, online chats, glimpses of the backstage area and a chance to sniff her panties.

Manager Caresse Henry said Madonna "couldn't be more enthusiastic about returning to the stage this summer. I think participating with AOL is a great way to connect with her fans."

Added AOL President Jonathan Sacks: "Madonna has been a long-time innovator in harnessing the power of the interactive medium to bring her music to the widest possible audience. This is the kind of exciting event programming that is the hallmark of our brands and is certain to be enjoyed by our millions of members. And just wait until you get a load of the footage from the webcan we put in her dressing room shower."

Added AOL Music head Kevin Conroy: "Participating in Madonna's tour will bring tremendous benefits to the millions of users of AOL's brands who love everything about her. This tour promises to be a blockbuster. Oh yeah, by the way, ya know where I can pick up a pair of tickets at face value?"
