SOURCE CO-OWNER PLEADS
NOT GUILTY

Magazine Files Complaint Against Police
An attorney for The Source magazine’s Raymond Scott entered a not guilty plea to nine charges Tuesday, including battery on a police officer at a brief court hearing in Miami.

The magazine co-owner and his passenger, Curtis Williams, were initially stopped in Scott’s Ferrari on August 21, for speeding. The event occurred just one day after the Source Hip-Hop Music Awards ceremony in South Beach.

Scott faces four felonies and five misdemeanors, including reckless driving for allegedly weaving through traffic while going 64 mph in a 30 mph zone. Arraignment is set for Oct. 1. Williams faces two misdemeanors for resisting arrest without violence and possession of a suspended driver's license.

The magazine has filed a formal complaint with Miami Beach Police, claiming police misconduct during the arrests.
