Urie says that the roles of the three Divisional VPs had grown "stale" over the years, and sees the new structure as being more "nimble."

UMVD DOES THE
REORGANIZATION SHUFFLE

Urie Ups Weatherson, Places Eddy and Greene East and West
Get out the party hats and noisemakers, folks. UMVD is reconfiguring its executive structure.

President Jim Urie has promoted current Central Divisional VP Jim Weatherson to Executive VP (Urie’s former title) in the company’s SoCal headquarters, and is doing away with the three Division VP titles by dividing the nation in two, covering all 12 "regions" (UMVD’s term for their branches).

Current Sr. VP Sales & Distribution Curt Eddy now heads back to New York as Eastern Sr. VP of Field Sales and Marketing, while current Western Divisional VP Mike Greene gets Sr. VP stripes, assuming Eddy’s West Coast title. He’ll also add Minneapolis and Chicago to his current territories of L.A., S.F. and Seattle, while continuing to make prank phone calls to L.A. Times reporter Chuck Philips pretending he’s the "other" Mike Greene. Eddy will now handle N.Y., Boston, DC, Atlanta, Detroit and Dallas as well as take on some East Coast label liaison duties.

Eddy and Greene will now report to Weatherson, as will VP Sales Mike Gillespie and VP Sales of Catalog Classics & Jazz Mike Davis. Current Eastern Divisional VP Kyle Krauss declined an offer of an another unspecified job inside the UMVD family and will be exiting the company, moving his family back to Texas.

Urie says that the roles of the three Divisional VPs had grown "stale" over the years, and sees the new structure as being more "nimble." Funny, we keep saying the same thing about Rerap guru Mark Pearson. The stale part, that is.
