AOL TIME WARNER DELIVERS MAIL ORDER

All Company Employees Required To Use AOL E-mail And Cutesy Screen Names
Wonder who has the screen name "AOheL."

In a move towards corporate synergy, AOL Time Warner has issued an e-mail mandate to its 86,000 employees, requiring them to use e-mail powered by the America Online service. It will probably mean even more busy signals when you’re trying to log on.

Since merging in January, AOL and Time Warner have worked toward implementing the AOL Internet system throughout the company, and are now obligating AOLTW staffers to use AOL e-mail. The company’s headquarters and its Time Inc. division have already begun transitioning the e-mail system into all divisions, and had previously integrated all of its websites—Netscape.com, Time.com, Warner Bros. Online—into the same network.

AOLTW employees are allowed to retain other e-mail addresses, however messages will be routed into their AOL accounts. And no V.I.P. treatment for the staffers, either. Their AOL e-mail accounts will be the same as general AOL subscribers—full of porn site spams.
