For the first time, the two surviving members of the band and Cobain's widow, Courtney Love, admit in court records that the song does exist. But, according to the Seattle Times, fans may never get to hear it as the parties involved have been granted an injunction temporarily barring the tune’s release.
A Seattle Superior Court judge granted Love an injunction against the inclusion of "You Know You're Right" on a planned 45-track Nirvana box set commemorating the 10th anniversary of the band's Nevermind album.
This case, like so many others involving Love, is not clear-cut as Love and former Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, no longer get along and the dispute involves who actually owns and controls Nirvana’s assets.
