PRIORITY LOVES SHACK

Label Names Andrew Shack Executive Vice President In Charge of Sharpening Turner's Hockey Skates
Maybe Wayne Gretzky wasn't available.

Instead, Andrew "Hacken" Shack is appointed to the newly created position of Executive Vice President for Priority Records by President/Chief Executive Officer "Life Of" Bryan Turner.

Shack will oversee the day-to-day operations of the label, including radio promotion, marketing, publicity and sales. He will be involved in all business and creative decisions at the company and take a two-minute penalty in the box for roughing after elbowing a promotion exec at the conference table during the weekly marketing meeting.

Shack began his career at the label in 1991 as Counsel in the Business Affairs Department. He was quickly elevated to the top post in that area as VP Business & Legal Affairs. In 1995, he started Priority's soundtrack division, acting as executive music supervisor and producer on soundtracks for the double-Platinum "Friday," the Platinum "Next Friday" the Gold "Rhyme & Reason" and the Platinum "I Got The Hook Up." He also sold popcorn at the theaters and scraped gum off the bottom of the seats.

Shack helmed the label's film division, co-producing Master P's groundbreaking "I Got the Hook Up" and "Foolish" as well as Mack 10's "Thicker Than Water."

In 1998, he segued into A&R, serving as Sr. VP A&R, where he played an integral role in albums by Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Master P, Silkk The Shocker, C-Murder, Athena Cage and Svala, among others.

Said Turner: "Andrew's 10 years at Priority has made him uniquely qualified to step into this important position. Together we will map out the next stage for Priority. I couldn't be more confident that his relationships, knowledge and determination will bring even more success to our company. And, even more amazing, after all these years of playing on the office hockey team, he still has all his teeth."

Added Shack: "We've gone through many changes at the label over the past 10 years, going from a small independent to a major force in the industry. I am looking forward to continuing to help direct Priority to becoming the best label we can be. Now if you will excuse me, I have to go detail Master P's Rolls."
