A KNIGHT'S TALE

Rap Mogul Ready To Finish Out Federal Sentence In June
Rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight has been transferred from Mule Creek State Prison to Sacramento County Jail, where he awaits transfer to an undisclosed federal facility to serve out the final two months of his sentence.

Knight is being given credit for federal time served from April 20, which would put his release date late June-early July. After that, he will be on state parole.

His first destination will be HITS magazine, where he'll share an In-N-Out double-double with his favorite jailhouse reporter Meshugge Knight aka Oy Vaikin. Knight originally talked to HITS in an exclusive prison interview last summer (see hitsdailydouble.com, 7/19/2000)

Radio talk-show host Don Imus has championed Knight's cause, claiming his nine-year sentence for a probation violation was a miscarriage of justice. He had Knight's attorney Robert Shapiro on the air last Tuesday pleading his client's case.

Meanwhile, Death Row Records continues with its slate of releases. The DVD of the 73-minute "Murder Was The Case," featuring Snoop Dogg, comes out on May 29, while the re-release of the double-Platinum VHS hits retail May 15. A brand-new Dogg Pound record hits in July.
