NAPSTER BELIEVES IN THE SCHWARTZ

Netco Hires Former DOJ Barrister As New General Counsel
Finally, Napster is in the news.

The company announced today it has appointed Jonathan "Livingston" Schwartz "Gull" to the new post of General Counsel.

Schwartz will manage Napster's ongoing legal affairs for its new membership-based service, oversee compliance efforts in relation to the ongoing U. S. District Court proceedings and fill in at shooting guard and small forward.

Schwartz joins Napster from the U.S. Justice Department in Washington, DC, where he most recently served as the Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General. In that capacity, Schwartz was a senior legal and policy advisor to the Attorney General and helped manage a $21 billion agency with over 125,000 employees, all of whose names he knew. Since graduating at the top of his class from Stanford Law School in 1986, Schwartz has held numerous other positions within the U.S. government and private law firms, including Standing Lotus and Downward Facing Dog.

Before joining the Justice Department, Schwartz was a federal prosecutor in the criminal division of the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, a law clerk for the late Justice Thurgood Marshall of the U.S. Supreme Court and a backup singer for Donna Summer.

"Jonathan has an incredibly sharp legal mind and he brings to Napster an impressive wealth of litigation and management experience," said interim CEO Hank "Straw" Barry "Letter 23," to whom Schwartz will report. "We are thrilled to have him on the Napster team."

"I look forward to managing the company's legal efforts," added Schwartz, "especially as Napster enters an exciting new phase of litigation… er… I mean, of a membership-based service."
