VIDEOS, GAMES TO BECOME PART OF NEW MP3.COM

Sadly, None of the Possible Changes
Include the Word "Porn"
Web site MP3.com will expand beyond its base in music by bulking up its video offerings and adding games, the Wall Street Journal reports.

The site, which recently became a unit of Vivendi Universal, expects to remain an independent operation, said newly upped Chairman/CEO Robin Richards (hitsdailydouble.com, 8/30). But it will build up its role in promoting Vivendi Universal's music and movie properties and in providing technology to other units of the French conglomerate.

The added video offerings will probably include more music videos and other material such as movie trailers, Richards told WSJ. The video programming also may be consolidated under one name. MP4 is one possibility. MP5 is also being considered, but MP6 has been ruled out.

MP3.com would aim to have video from Vivendi Universal units as well as other companies, he said. MP3.com hasn't finalized its plans for offering online games, but it is "actively pursuing" plans to deliver them. And we think you know what they mean when they say "deliver them." Oh yeah.
