MUSIC ROUNDUP: CHOCKED FULL OF NUTS, OH WAIT, THAT'S OUR OFFICES

NetRadio Closes Its Doors, Pressplay Adds Six More, Sting and McCartney Webcasts
NET LOSS
NetRadio Corp
shut down yesterday, discontinuing its webcasts and releasing most of its employees. The Navarre-owned audio distribution netco said it had run out of money and its expected acquisition by media company Advisory Board Inc, had fallen through. Management and the board of directors remain on at the present time to continue to look for other alternatives for the company. The 100-channel web radio network began struggling soon after its launch in 1995, when it shifted from cups and string to digital distribution.

SIX FIGURES WELL
Pressplay has announced licensing agreements with indie labels Roadrunner, Madacy, Navarre, OWIE, Razor & Tie and Rounder. The non-exclusive deals expand Pressplay's subscription-based music catalog to include tracks from artists such as Slipknot, Marshall Crenshaw, Dead Kennedys, The Damned, Skee-lo and others. The deals add to the online company's existing catalog, which includes artists from owners Sony and Universal, and EMI. Pressplay will launch its streaming and download service this fall, shortly after the Yankees win their fourth straight World Series.

STING, THE BEE IN YAHOO'S BONNET
Sting
will webcast his Tuscany concert on Yahoo! Broadcast. The exclusive concert, recorded on September 11th, was originally scheduled as a live webcast, but Sting decided to instead to broadcast a single song and a moment of silence for the victims of the day. The hour-long concert is now available on demand through Nov. 5, free to all purchasers of a brand-new Jaguar.

WANNA SEE MCCARTNEY'S BEHIND?
Behind-the-scenes footage of Paul McCartney rehearsing for this weekend's "Concert for New York," are available now on the MSN Music site, WindowMedia.com and paulmccartney.com. The exclusive clips, which will be available until tomorrow, a chance to chat online with the ex-Beatle and hear two new songs from McCartney's new album Driving Rain, are all apart of an Internet special in conjunction with Microsoft and Capitol Records. And you thought Paul was dead. Or the walrus.
