FOUR MORE TRIP TO EXTASY

Startup Label Rolls With New Promotion Team
Less than a year after its launch, Extasy Records International has solidified its promotion department, naming four executives to key posts.

Extasy Records Senior VP of Promotion "Beef" Stu Cohen has named Eric "Wake and" Baker as the startup’s VP of Alternative and Rock Promotion; Steven "Roger &" Zap its VP of Adult and Top 40 Promotion; "Richie" Ritch Bloom as Director of National Promotion, West Coast and Director of AAA Promotion; and William Marion "Barry" as National Director of Promotion, East Coast.

Baker, Zap and Bloom are based at the company’s L.A. headquarters, while Marion is stationed at the label’s New York offices.

"I believe that with these appointments, Extasy Records' promotion department is poised, prepared and capable of dealing with the complexities of promotion in the 21st century," Cohen said. "I also believe that the children are our future."

Baker began his career at MCA Distribution in 1990, later serving at A&M before joining RCA and most recently Roadrunner.

Zap was with Virgin in the early ‘80s before moving to Warner/Reprise and, most recently, MCA.

Bloom began his career with a decade-long stretch at CBS Records beginning in the late ‘70s. He served in a variety of senior Promo posts at Columbia and Epic before moving to Capitol. He later held executive positions at Qwest, Giant and Artemis.

Marion most recently was New England Advertising Manager of Us Magazine. Before that, he worked at Sire and Zoo/Volcano.
