Music software specialists Magix will be rolling out an array of goodies for home composers, mixers and musical collagists over next few months.

The German company, the world's biggest music software brand—with over 12 million units sold—is now stepping up its U.S. operations under the aegis of CEO/President Ken Alterwitz.

Currently ramping up the visibility of its PlayR music jukebox, Magix will soon expand its offerings dramatically.

March will see the release of Music & Video Maker Generation 6 in both Standard and Deluxe versions. Its virtual production studio features 48 tracks (on the Standard version) or 64 (Deluxe) as well as an array of effects like sample editing, multi-format capability, karaoke feature, web publishing and the ability to export to e-mail. Both apps allow users an inexpensive means to create recordings, music videos, web projects, presentations and numerous other multimedia content in-house.

April marks the bow of MP3 Maker Gold, with the Music Cleaning Lab due in May (and subject to a possible name change).

In June, the targeted Hip Hop Maker and Techno Maker will reach into communities that have most enthusiastically embraced all aspects of home production and are most likely to take advantage of the remixing capabilities of music software.

Magix will roll out the PlayR Deluxe version 2.0 and the to-be-renamed Video Deluxe in July. The company's products were recently spotlighted in the L.A. Times' "Tech Times" section.
