MAYBE FLESH-N-BONE NEEDS A CELLMATE?
A Punxsutawney, PA, man literally tried to crash the Sept. 17 Further Festival concert at University Park. Joseph Yoder, who reportedly admitted to having consumed a few beers, smoked some marijuana and taken 2-1/2 hits of LSD, decided to drive his Mitsubishi Galant through the loading doors behind the arena to gain access. After crashing through the doors, Yoder ran from the car, punched a security guard and made it up a flight of stairs before being apprehended. Police searched Yoder's wrecked vehicle and found two bags of pot and two bags containing about 80 tabs of LSD. Yoder faces felony charges of risking a catastrophe, criminal mischief, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and industrial vandalism, as well as marijuana possession, simple assault and poor spelling. "Yoder must have thought The Force was with him," a policeman was overheard saying. "He said he was traveling at light speed when he hit the loading dock and then started calling me Luke. Must be good acid, Huh?"

A VOICE FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE
A never-before-heard audio interview with Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain, recorded six months before his death, is being made available for download in a multimedia file that includes audio, video, photographs and text. The audio, which comes from a 90-minute interview between Cobain and Chicago Sun-Times pop music critic Jim DeRogatis, is being released by Sobent and ThrottleBox Media as a way to showcase the latest version of ThrottleBox's 3.0 Player. ThrottleBox's technology lets people download to their desktops a single file that contains audio, video, photographs, text and hyperlinks. "Despite being able to hear his voice, Cobain is still dead," added an anti-grunge enthusiast.

I'LL DRINK TO THAT
Wu-Tang Clan
bad boy Ol' Dirty Bastard is well on the road to recovery. The once-reckless rapper has entered the second phase of his court-mandated drug treatment. On Thursday (9/22), a Los Angeles Superior Court approved ODB to leave his drug treatment facility on 12-hour supervised passes to perform fellowship work. In June, ODB was sentenced to spend 180 days at the Impact House treatment center in Pasadena, CA, after violating his parole. The rapper had been kicked out of the same facility in January, after allegedly showing up for a New York Court appearance blind stinking drunk. ODB is due for another progress report in December. Said ODB of his pending work: "I plan on helping the little children. Hey, stop at that liquor store on the way to the orphanage. All this body armor is making me thirsty for Mad Dog."

"BITTERSWEET" SYMPHONY
The Phish documentary "Bittersweet Motel" opens in Los Angeles Sept. 29. The film highlights a year in the life of one of rock's most successful touring bands. Industry insiders expect bootleg copies of the film to be on the streets by the first week of October.
