All The News You Completely Ignored Every Other Place You Read It
THOSE VOICES AREN'T JUST IN YOUR HEAD:
Lycos and Mobilee, Inc. have teamed up for the development of Lycos' voice portal. This will allow wireless phone users to access information usually garnered from a computer, such as stocks, movie listings and weather. Users will simply dial a local access number and talk. Mobilee's speech-recognition technology takes the place of keyboard commands. Voice activation also delivers information as streaming audio rather than text messages. Now those strangers who gab ceaselessly on their phones in public can now further annoy you by accessing porn sites in public. Isn't the future wonderful?

FREE LAUNCH… OR FREE LUNCH?:
LAUNCH Media and performance marketer Be Free Inc. are going underground for a new marketing program. LAUNCH Underground will recruit affiliate partners who will be able to access LAUNCH content, including music news, videos and concert information. Be Free will track the transitions and report back to Launch and the affiliate partners. Be Free will also tell the authorities if people jaywalk or leave the toilet seat up. Remember, Big Brother is watching you.

BACKSTAGE PASS:
Legendary agent Ian Copeland will give FansRULE.com an exclusive peek into his Backstage Caf in Beverly Hills, CA. The Internet fan site will Web cast celebrity interviews as well as offer downloads, pay-per-view events and Backstage Caf auctions. The programming begins with Tuesday night jam sessions hosted by party girl Punkin Pie. Past sessions included Slash, Yogi of Buckcherry and former Sex Pistol Steve Jones. Said Backstage Caf media director David Kessel: " All that's missing is the hookers and blow. Oh, I forgot, we have those, too."

THAT'S WHEN I REACH FOR MY REVOLVING LINE OF CREDIT:
You love Moby. You videotaped the Nordstrom commercial featuring "Porcelain" and even shaved your head in homage. But you're not a true Moby fan unless you havethe Platinumplaque for his runawayhit album,"Play" – from Canada. Here's your chance: V2 Records and Chapters Online Inc. are holding an auction for the award. Bidding begins at $100 and will be accepted through 8/22. Proceeds will be donated to Frontier College, Canada's oldest adult literacy program, which aims to prevent all Canooks from saying "aboot." Pass the Molsons and back bacon, eh?

Vasile's 17-year technology and e-commerce career includes stints at Kelly Services, K-Mart and UPS.
