THE QUICK BROWN DOG JUMPS OVER THE HARRY FOX

Musicbank Signs Licensing Deal With HFA
Digital music provider musicbank has joined forces with the Harry Fox Agency for a three-year licensing deal.

The partnership gives musicbank users secure, on-demand streaming access to music whose copyrights are held by HFA-represented publishers. The deal will provide guaranteed royalties to the publishers.

A wholly owned subsidiary of the National Music Publishers' Association, HFA represents more than 25,000 music publishers.

Musicbank provides digital access to music users already own. The service has deals in place with EMI Music Group, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, BMG Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment.

"We appreciate the fact that musicbank was proactive in seeking licenses and in cooperating with copyright owners in ensuring that their rights will be protected," said HFA Executive Vice President/COO Robert J. Shaw to no one in particular. "This agreement is a great example of how online music companies that want to operate within the provisions of the copyright law can do so with relative ease."
