FIVE EASY PIECES, THE MUSICAL

A Heartwarming Tale Of Dead Legends, An Ace Of Spades And Gunplay In The Big Apple

PRIZES POURING LIKE COLD KENTUCKY RAIN
Who needs Super Lotto when you can scratch like the King? Kentucky is the first state to offer the official Elvis Presley Instant Lottery game. In lieu of cash prizes, the game offers dream trips for two to Graceland, including airfare, two nights at Elvis Presley's Heartbreak Hotel and $1,000 in Elvis gift certificates. Second-chance prizes include Elvis videos, guitar-shaped watches and Elvis telephones. The scratch tickets feature "six feet of Elvis"—a dozen 4-by-6-inch tickets depicting Presley and Graceland—and layer of real congealed chicken gravy to scratch off.

LEMMY JUST LIE DOWN FOR A BIT
Motorhead have canceled the remainder of their European tour because leader Lemmy Kilmister, a 30-year veteran of the rock wars, is recovering from exhaustion, flu and a lung infection. The heavy metal hero was hospitalized in Northern Italy and will have to remain in that country recovering for at least two weeks. "Lemmy will never even go to a doctor," manager Todd Singerman told MTV. "When I heard he went to a hospital, I figured that was the end of him." Fans shrugged off the illness, saying Lemmy could only be "Killed by Death," in reference to a "popular" Motorhead ditty.

BYE-BYE, BLING-BLING
Mobb Deep's Prodigy lost more than $300,000 in jewelry to New York muggers last week, according to the New York Daily News. Prodigy (Albert Johnson) was taking a break from a video shoot when two men robbed him at gunpoint, police said. "The robbers would have gotten away with more," the cops said, "but there were only two of them and that was all they could carry."

IMAGINE ALL THE PEOPLE BUSTED BY RUDY G.
Twenty people were arrested on marijuana charges Friday (12/8) in New York as they held a vigil marking the 20th anniversary of John Lennon's murder. The New York Police Department said they arrested one attendee for allegedly selling marijuana and 19 for allegedly smoking it, reports Sonicnet, which cited coverage by the New York Daily News. Three other people were issued summonses—one for carrying an open alcohol container, one for possessing marijuana and one for breaking up The Beatles.

SHYNE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND
Prosecutors plan to use some of rapper Shyne's lyrics against him when his trial begins on Jan. 8. Shyne, a protege of Puff Daddy, faces attempted murder charges stemming from a December 1999 shooting at Club New York, Launch reports. Prosecutor Matthew Bogdanos wants to use a line from the song, "Commission," to prove motive in his case against Shyne, who raps in the song: "Let me warn ya/Trip against my team/You's a goner." Bogdanos seeks to use the lyrics to prove that Shyne opened fire because Puffy was disrespected at the club. "It's all interpretation," Shyne said. "Does anyone really think Lennon was talking about kicking drugs in ‘Cold Turkey?'" Shyne asked. "It's obvious he was upset about the Thanksgiving dinner Yoko prepared that year."
