IT’S ALL PART OF THEIR
ROCK AND ROLL FANTASY

EMusic Adds Fantasy Records’ Catalog
To Its Roster
EMusic today announced an exclusive, long-term digital distribution agreement with Fantasy Records.

The deal will eventually include all of Fantasy's 35,000-plus tracks, from the company's Stax, Milestone, Prestige, Riverside, Contemporary/Good Time Jazz, Kicking Mule, Pablo, Specialty and Takoma labels. The cuts will be available for purchase and download in MP3 format.

The Fantasy catalog includes such roots, rock, jazz and soul artists as Louis Armstrong, Cannonball Adderley, Chet Baker, Count Basie, Big Star, Dave Brubeck, John Coltrane, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Jerry Garcia, Isaac Hayes, Charlie Parker, Little Richard and many more. Also on Fantasy are the movie soundtracks to "Amadeus," "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" and "The English Patient," as well as spoken word recordings from poet Allen Ginsberg and comedy recordings by Lenny Bruce.

"Fantasy is one of the most recognized and respected names in independent jazz, soul and blues music," said EMusic President and CEO Gene Hoffman. "We are thrilled to be able to offer their quality catalog to downloadable music fans in such a convenient and inexpensive manner. We are equally proud to offer a legitimate download service that compensates musicians, songwriters and labels for their work."

By putting Fantasy's extensive jazz catalog online, jazz fans can now watch their favorite music get ignored in a whole new medium.
