EMINEM PROJECT ADVOCATE HAS NO CLASS
An elementary school teacher resigned after school administrators and parents complained about a research project some of her 6th grade students were doing on controversial rapper Eminem. Students at an Indiana high school are protesting the music blackout imposed throughout their school. Angered because they can no longer listen to music at school, not even in gym class, they walked out of their classrooms last Friday in protest. The original members of the seminal New Wave band DEVO have reunited, sort of. The group will revive the fictional surf band, The Wipeouters. Their debut album, "Ptwaang!" hits stores April 24. In a related story, Grand Funk will be using Devo's flower-pot hats for the next several months.

Ike Turner plans to release his new disc, "Here and Now," in late May. The project is being called Turner's "first proper new album in over 20 years," with new material and a new version of his classic "Rocket 88," which some musicologists consider the first true rock ‘n' roll song. Turner and his band, the Kings of Rhythm, planned to release the new music sooner, but there was a delay while they beat the crap out of the engineer.
