The show—created and produced by the creators of MTV's "FANatic"—features an aspiring new artist being taken through the steps of breaking into the music business, from creating a demo to launching a career. The artist will also receive mentoring and guidance from industry professionals such as Toni Braxton and Tonos founders Carole Bayer Sager, David Foster and Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds.
"‘VH1's Road To Fame' underscores our commitment to foster new talent and work together to create career opportunities for aspiring artists across all mediums," said Tonos President and CEO Matt Farber. "Through VH1 and the guidance and mentoring of industry professionals, we are able to showcase our vision and empower one lucky artist to fulfill his or her dream."
"It will make the road to discovery much easier for developing artists and will provide an intriguing behind the scenes look at how talent is discovered and nurtured," said Jeff Gaspin, VH1's Exec VP, Programming and Production.
The show is being considered as a possible continuing series on VH1.
