PROFIT-SHARING 101 OFFERED
AT MOTOWN UNIVERSITY

Tuition's Cheap And The Coeds Are Hot
Motown Records and University Records have entered into a worldwide distribution agreement, the labels announced today. Under the profit-sharing deal, University will bring acts to Motown for mutual development, combining the A&R and creative services of both labels.

"The combination of Motown's promotion, marketing and publicity machine and University's creative instincts are a perfect mix for discovering and developing new talent," said Motown President & CEO Kedar Massenburg. "Heck, any alliance that can generate a hit is OK by me."

University President Haqq Islam added, "This partnership allows me the creative autonomy to build on Kedar's tradition. So roll out the earthmovers and let the construction work begin."

The first release under the University/Motown pact will be R&B male quartet Majusty. University's current roster includes Dru Hill and Mya, who will continue to be distributed by Island/Def Jam and Interscope, respectively.
