KONOWITCH AND MCA PART WAYS

No Replacement Named For Industry Vet;
Simon, Lambert To Report Directly To Boberg
After three years as the No. 2 man at MCA Records, Abbey Konowitch, the company's Executive VP, has left to pursue other interests.

Sources said the departure is the end product of philosophical differences.

No replacement has yet been named and Konowitch's duties are expected to be split among the company's senior staff. Senior VPs Jayne Simon and Craig Lambert will now report directly to President Jay Boberg.

While at MCA Records, Konowitch was integral in the success of such artists as blink-182, K-Ci & Jojo, Semisonic, Aqua, The A*Teens, Common, New Edition, The Roots, New Radicals and others.

Before joining MCA, Konowitch held executive positions at Maverick and MTV.
