VH-1's “BABY LOVE” SUPREME

VH1 Nabs Carey, Hill & Summer For a “Divas Do Diana” Special
Florence Ballard call your agent.

Mariah Carey, Faith Hill and Donna Summer have signed on for the third installment of VH1's highly rated “Divas” series, which will honor Rock and Roll Hall ofFame crooner Diana Ross. The show, “VH1 Divas 2000: A Tribute to Diana Ross,” will take place at the Theater at Madison Square Garden and debut on the music channel April 11. It’s the first Divas special to focus on the music of a particular artist, and considering the extensive body of work compiled by Ross with The Supremes and in her long solo career, there’ll be no shortage of material to draw on. Carey and Summer will recreate some of the group's most bitter feuds, as when Ballard stole Ross' wig before a show in Detroit in '65.

The twist on this bill, powered by the marquee value of two of today’s biggest female artists, is provided by the presence of disco diva Summer. But the ’70s icon is no stranger to VH1, having starred in “Donna Summer: Live & More Encore!,” her first televised concert, along with the inevitable “Behind the Music” segment."Divas 2000" willbe followed the next week by "Men Strike Back," the first male installmentof the "Divas" series, featuring Sting, the Backstreet Boys, Enrique Iglesias, D'Angelo and Tom Jones, which will air April 18.
