GORE GETS THREE EAGLES

No, He’s Not That Good At Golf,
But He Loves "Life In The Fast Lane"

Miramax Chairman Harvey Weinstein, VH1 President John Sykes and Rolling Stone Editor and Publisher Jann Wenner have called a few musician friends to put together a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee (DNC). The September 14 event, dubbed simply, "The Concert," is a tribute to Vice President Al Gore, who we hear is also running for President.

An eclectic list of performers have "volunteered" their services to perform at Radio City Music Hall on September 14. Because it's easy to say no to guys like Sykes and Wenner. Slated to rock out are Jimmy Buffett, Bette Midler, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Lenny Kravitz, Sheryl Crow, Macy Gray and Jon Bon Jovi. According to the official release, Don Henley, Glenn Frey and Timothy Schmidt will perform songs by "The Eagles" (the quotation marks are theirs, not ours). And we were hoping they'd be doing some W.A.S.P. songs.

"The importance of electing Al Gore inspired me to make one last return to the concert production business," said Weinstein. "And I've never seen Prince do ‘Darling Nikki' live, so…whaddaya mean he's not playing?"

Contributors in attendance will be given special Parental Advisory stickers, just in case.
