ANY PUBLICITY IS GOOD PUBLICITY

Farmclub.com Traffic Up 52 Percent, Napster.com Up 20 Percent, Hitsdailydouble.com Not Yet A Blip On The Screen
The number of Web users at Internet music sites rose last week even as the music industry increased its attacks against the sites.

The latest weekly ratings from Nielsen/NetRatings (NTRT), released Friday, said the biggest rise was experienced by Farmclub.com, as 213,059 people visited the site during the last week of April, a 52 percent rise from the previous week.

Napster.com had a 20 percent gain to 553,307, and MP3.com's audience rose four percent to 327,786.

This week a federal judge found MP3 violated copyright laws and the band Metallica identified more than 300,000 users of Napster's software who it claims are illegally copying its music.
