Starlight Networks Founder To Serve Also As CEO, Mark Thompson Named Chairman

RioPort, Inc. has named James E. Long President and Chief Executive Officer.

Additionally, RioPort announced that it has named Mark Thompson Chairman of the Board. Long will assume his role at RioPort beginning today.

"RioPort has incredible assets in its management team, its technical expertise, products, services, investors and business partnerships that I am sure will keep it a leader in the digital media market," said Long, who founded Starlight Networks in 1991. "RioPort's strength also lies in its strong knowledge of the industry from content to consumer and the requirements they are addressing with their business to business service. I am very excited about the opportunity that lies in front of us."

Long brings to RioPort experience in accomplishments in pioneering new technologies and applications for the Internet and PC environments—which means that he knows how to turn a computer on and how to get Internet Explorer up and running.
