Dungan's previous stint was at Arista Records, where he held a number of positions, most recently Senior VP/GM for Arista Nashville. He was instrumental in developing the careers of such artists as Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Pam Tillis, Diamond Rio, the Tractors, Brad Paisley and Phil Vassar.

"Under Pat's interim leadership, Capitol Nashville has had significant success," said Capitol Records Group President Roy Lott. "However, it was always understood that Pat was not the permanent President. We are extremely fortunate that Mike became available.
