REESE EXITS C2,
WILL HE BE ELEKTRAFIED?

Former C2 Promo Domo To Fill Thompson’s Shoes,
Not Literally
Look for C2 Promotion head Dennis Reese to exit his post at the imprint this week, sources said.

Word on the street is that Reese, a former major market radio programmer, is in advanced negotiations to take a high-level position in promotion at Elektra Records. Sources said Reese will fill the promo post vacated by Greg Thompson, when Thompson was upped to GM of the Warner Music Group label.

It is likely that Reese will segue to the promo-topper position rather quickly. The Elektra promotion job has been empty since Thompson's ascension months ago, and Elektra and Thompson have both actively been seeking to fill the slot since.

Reese's official appointment at Elektra is not expected until after the July 4 holiday, sources said.

At C2, a division of the Columbia Records Group, Reese served as the only promotion head the relatively new label has ever had.
