Arista/Nashville Absorbed
In an expected consolidation, partially due to clive davis',390,400);">clive davis',390,400);">Clive Davis' departure, Arista/Nashville will become a unit of the RCA Label Group-Nashville/RLG, effective July 1. According to the announcement from RCA Label Group chairman Joe Galante, 15 Arista/Nashville staffers will move over to the RLG group. Arista/Nashville will have a Promotion staff of nine and a separate Artist Development department, with Sales, Media, Creative and other aspects handled by the RLG staff.
Senior VP and GM Butch Waugh will continue to oversee Artist Development, Creative Services, Media Marketing, Promotion and Sales. Galante will supervise A&R, Finance and Business & Legal Affairs. Further staff announcements will be made in the next month.
The combined label roster is deep, including Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Diamond Rio, Lonestar, Alabama, Martina McBride, Clint Black, Tracy Byrd and 15 others.
Galante commented, "We are very excited about this new chapter in the label's history as they join the RCA Label Group. We hope this chapter has a lot of pretty pictures."
