WWW.COM, KERBANGO
TURN EACH OTHER ON

Web Radio Device To Stream
Netcaster's 200-plus Stations
It's been said before, but it bears repeating: As long as it's stuck on the desktop, Web entertainment is still in its beta phase.

B2B online radio aggregator WWW.COM and Kerbango, Inc. have pacted to make the leap off the computer, thanks to the latter's stand-alone Internet radio. The device, which can be plugged directly into an existing Net connection, allows users to stream audio content without being tethered to their PCs. WWW.COM's 400,000 digitized (and fully licensed) songs and 200+ stations, meanwhile, will complement the radio's directory of global stations.

The radios are slated to begin shipping this summer. Plans are underway to add such features as listener feedback, song title information and one-click CD sales. Both companies are hoping that the ability to stream Web music in other parts of the home (and, once wireless technology becomes readily available, in the car and at the beach) will lift Internet radio out of its cult niche and into mass consciousness.

Commented WWW.COM Director of Label Relations Kat Meade: "IP broadcasting is just another band like FM or AM. Devices like Kerbango reinforce this concept as they make Internet Radio a reality beyond the computer. Making WWW.COM's originally programmed 200+ stations available on Kerbango lets people tune into our broadcast without the computer, allowing WWW.COM to reach beyond the 'typical' online listener. Now will you please stop stalking me?"

"Kerbango is a driving force behind the transformation of Internet radio," adds Kerbango Prexy Jim Gable. "If only the company's name weren't so mortally embarrassing to say out loud."
