P!nk has signed a new worldwide, multi-album deal with RCA.
The Grammy-winning megastar, whose The Truth About Love is double platinum and is at 3m TEA, had a breakout moment with Oscar audiences Sunday night thanks to her luminous rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"—putting her on the radar of millions of viewers who aren't normally tuned in to the Pop world.
Her recent tour spanned 13 countries, and in Australia broke the record for most dates (18) in one venue on one trek; that Melbourne stint alone reached a quarter-million fans.
"We couldn't be more proud to have P!nk continue her relationship with RCA," declared label CEO Peter Edge. "She is a one-of-a-kind artist who continues to raise the stakes of her own artistry."
Added President Tom Corson, "P!nk is in a league all her own and we are thrilled she will continue to be a member of the RCA family. And she's promised to teach me how to work the trapeze."
Said manager Roger Davies, "I'm very happy that we are continuing our excellent relationship with Pete, Tom, Joe [Riccitelli] and the entire RCA team," adding, "They really understand how we work and we are looking forward to working with them in the future."
