The performers on Clear Channel's first-ever iHeartRadio Music Awards on 5/1 will include Drake, Pharrell, Blake Shelton, Kendrick Lamar, Pitbull, Shakira, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Ariana Grande, Luke Bryan, Arcade Fire, and Ed Sheeran, it was announced today.
An array of unique duets and other surprises, with an emphasis on storytelling, is promised.
Also scheduled to appear on the telecast from L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium are Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Lorde, Steven Tyler, Imagine Dragons, Chris Martin and Demi Lovato, among others.
Performers will also appear at venues around L.A. such as The Roxy and the Hotel Café. Round two of voting continues through 4/25 here; the list of finalists so far can be found in our earlier story.
The show, executive produced by Clear Channel prexy John Sykes and Programming chief Tom Poleman, Ryan Seacrest Productions and Ian Stewart and Hamish Hamilton of Done and Dusted Inc., will air on NBC at 8pm ET/PT; Hamilton is slated to direct the telecast.
