Disney’s Frozen Hits #1 on HITS Album Sales Chart Again; Swindell, Phantogram Debut in Top 10

Cold weather may be a bane in much of the land, but to Disney it's pure magic. Team Walt is celebrating yet another #1 week atop the HITS Album SalesChart for the unstoppable Frozen ST, which adds another 88k to its million-plus tally, a decline of just 12%.

The animated blockbuster is favored to win two Oscars, including Best Song for "Let It Go," which Idina Menzel will perform on this weekend's telecast and which the orchestra will strike up every four minutes or so throughout the evening. All of this likely trigger another retail avalanche.

EMI Nashville’s Country-Rock innovator Eric Church holds the #2 post with 78k (-73%); he’s followed by Warner Bros. Nashville’s Cole Swindell, who bows on the chart with 63k.

At #4 is NOW 49 with 42k. The hits compilation appears on the NOW imprint, which is a collaboration between UMG and Sony and distributed by UMG as part of the UMe universe. A diagram outlining all of the above may be obtained by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to this address.

The Top 5 is rounded out by Columbia’s Beyoncé, who scores another 34k (-33%).

Lava/Republic’s Lorde remains strong, hitting #6 with 30k (-23%) and passing the million mark. Kudos to Messrs. Lipman, Flom et al. Katy Perry’s monster PRISM (Capitol) is at #7 with 25k (-23%), while Bruno Mars takes #8 with 22k (-54%).

Debuting at #9 is Barsuk/Republic’s Phantogram, which scored a cool 20k for their Voices, as the band gets louder by the moment at PoMo radio. The Top 10 is completed by KidinaKorner/Interscope’s Imagine Dragons (19k, -55%).

The Top 20’s other debuts come from 19/Interscope’s Candice Glover (#11, 19k), Rise rockers Issues (#13, 18k) and Signature SoundsLake Street Dive (#18, 14k).

Streeting today are TDE/Interscope’s Hip-Hop breakout Schoolboy Q, Republic’s Kid Cudi, Capitol’s Beck, Capitol Nashville’s Dierks Bentley, Sony Latin’s Romeo Santos, Epic’s The Fray and Republic’s St. Vincent, among others. And in case you’ve been dwelling under a rock, Columbia’s Pharrell streets on 3/3.
