Disney’s redoubtable Frozen ST is down just 11% to round out the Top 5 with 38k—Ken Bunt’s juggernaut now crosses the 3 million mark and isn’t slowing down.

X MARKS THE SPOT

Sheeran Claims #1, Sam Smith Looks Strong With Another #2 Sales Week, G-Eazy Bows at #3

Ed Sheeran tops the HITS Building Album Sales Chart this week, as his x sells 211k. Sheeran’s 2012 debut bowed with 42k and has sold 800k RTD. It’s another feather in the cap of red-hot Warner U.K. Chairman and Atlantic U.K. head Max Lousada, who shares the collar with his Atlantic U.K. predecessor, Christian Tattersfield.

Capitol’s Sam Smith, who debuted at #2 last week, holds onto that spot with 69k (dropping only 59%).

BPG/RVG/G-Eazy's G-Eazy nabs a #3 bow with 47k, an impressive showing for the Bay Area rapper’s grassroots release. Last week’s chart-topper, Interscope’s Lana Del Rey, slips to #4 with 46k (-74%), while Disney’s redoubtable Frozen ST is down just 11% to round out the Top 5 with 38k—Ken Bunt’s juggernaut now crosses the 3 million mark and isn’t slowing down.

Another debut, from ATO’s jam-band perennials Phish, lands at #6 with 31k; RCA Nashville’s Miranda Lambert holds steady at #7 with 29k (-145); Linkin Park adjusts down to #8 with 28k (-76%); Warner Bros.Mastodon bows at #9 with 27k and Now 50 completes the Top 10 with 22k (-14%).

The Now franchise, it’s worth mentioning—because we mention it every goddamn time—is on the NOW label, a UMG-Sony joint venture that is also part of the UMe universe. That’s our story and we’re sticking to it.

Other debuts include Top Dawg’s Ab-Soul (#11, 22k), Rhino’s Jersey Boys ST (#15, 17k) and Mad Decent’s Riff Raff (#20, 12k).

Streeting at presstime are Atlantic’s Trey Songz, Corcord’s Seether, Latium/RCA’s Magic! and Star Trak/Interscope’s Robin Thicke, among others; the subsequent week brings RCA’s Sia.

In other news, we think we’ve got World Cup fever. That’s the one with vomiting, runny eyes and a weird rash, right?
