KATY PERRY’S POP-POWERED
PRISM PUSH

Clear Channel Radio Takeover, iHeart Party, Bowl Benefit, GMA School Concert, More in Rollout

With her PRISM streeting today, Capitol Pop queen Katy Perry has a pretty full dance card.

Among the activities: a takeover of Clear Channel stations nationwide and iHeartRadio.com for a full day of "Katy Perry Radio"; an album release party inaugurating the new iHeartRadio Theater in Burbank, CA (with broadcasts); an all-star benefit show at the Hollywood Bowl; and a concert for a contest-winning school (to be shown on Good Morning America).

Meanwhile, a limited edition of the new album and Walmart-exclusive "’Zinepak" filled with merch will be made available as PRISM—fueled by #1 smash "Roar" and also featuring new single "Unconditionally" and other tracks Perry crafted with Pop confectioners like Max Martin, Dr. Luke, Cirkut —resounds at retail.

"Katy Perry Radio" will be carried on Clear Channel Pop, Crossover, AC and HOT AC stations across the land. The unique promotion, developed by Tom Poleman and team, puts the star on the air to play DJ—showcasing the songs on PRISM and any other music she chooses, discussing the material and its creation, and generally doing whatever the heck she wants to do.

Tonight finds the star breaking in the intimate new iHeartRadio Theater in Burbank with her album release party, which will include a live performance and audience Q&A. The whole shebang will air live on 175 Clear Channel stations at 6pm PST/9pm EST and stream exclusively at Yahoo Screen; the recorded CW telecast will air on 10/25 at 9pm EST.

Tomorrow night (10/23), the Hollywood Bowl hosts Katy Perry’s WE CAN SURVIVE, a concert benefiting breast-cancer nonprofit the Young Survival Coalition, featuring music by the star and guests Ellie Goulding, Sara Bareilles, Tegan & Sara, Kacey Musgraves and Bonnie McKee. The event is sponsored by CBS Radio and Citi; Citi Thank You cardholders will be able to catch a special pre-show acoustic set and Q&A with Perry.

Out of breath yet? Need a little break? Well, Perry isn’t pausing. On 10/25 she’ll reward the winners of her "Roar" lip-dub contest—which prompted nearly 1,000 entries to the Good Morning America-sponsored contest from high schools around the country—with a concert. The winning school, Lakewood High in Lakewood, CO, will host Perry (and GMA will present the set to TV audiences). The date also happens to be her birthday.

Meanwhile, fans will have access to some specialized goodies at retail. The first 330k copies of PRISM’s 16-track deluxe version will be released in a limited-edition iridescent digipak with a sheet of seed paper, suitable for planting. In the earth. What will grow from that paper? Probably not that purple kush we’ve been trying to grow in our basement. But we digress. Walmart will offer its own exclusive package, with the deluxe album, a 64-page Perry-curated magazine, embroidered patch, nail decals, temporary tattoos representing the star’s discography, a sample of her Killer Queen fragrance and more of that seed paper.

Phew—we’re exhausted just chronicling it all.
