“Gun” is Bangin’ at AAA, PoMo, VEVO
Boardwalk/Hollywood artist ZZ Ward jumps into Vibe this week, riding AAA love, starting to cross to PoMo and enjoying critical accolades everywhere.
“Put the Gun Down,” the infectious, grooving first single from Ward’s album debut, Til the Casket Drops, is on Sirius/XM's Spectrum and Alt Nation, KROQ, WZGC, KPRI, KTCL, KRBZ, WRNR and plenty more; it’s currently #27 AAA and #58 PoMo. “Gun” has enjoyed 600k VEVO views (watch it here), and Ward will perform on Leno 11/1.
Ward appeals to rock fans but has hip-hop cred too, which is boosted by album guests like Aftermath/Interscope’s chart star Kendrick Lamar and Decon’s Freddie Gibbs. Also guesting is Fitz of Fitz and the Tantrums. USA Today, Entertainment Weekly and Esquire have lavished praise. She’s supporting Casket (which streeted 10/16) with a national club tour through the end of 2012.
