NEW IN VIBE: FIRE, GENIUS
AND GOLD

Following some big CMJ shows, L.A. brother-sister duo Blondfire is generating heat at PoMo radio. Their relentless earworm "Where the Kids Are" (from their Modern Art/Warner Bros. digital EP of the same name) is seeing action at Sirius XM's Alt Nation, KNDD, WSUN, WXRK, KRBZ, KROX and more. The song's inventive video, meanwhile, has been spreading like (you should pardon the expression) wildfire online--and an official WB clip is now in production.

Shout-outs from RollingStone.com, Filter.com, Perez Hilton, TheInsider.com ("you should know") and others have stoked the flames. Having solidified its local base and industry awareness with an L.A. residency, the PoMo pair is prepping for year-end radio shows and will roll out a full-length in the spring.

Another WB PoMo band, Australia's Atlas Genius, is in our spotlight thanks to "Trojans" (from their Through the Glass EP, which dropped in July). That track is storming the gates at PoMo and Triple A, including but not limited to Alt Nation, KROQ, KYSR, WKQX, KITS, KFOG, KDGE, KTBZ, WWDC, WBOS, WRFF, CIMX, KNDD ... oy, so many call letters. Their video dropped at MTV this week; having wrapped up their fall dates with Silversun Pickups and Wolfgang, the band will hit radio-show stages through 12/8 and play a sold-out gig at L.A.'s storied Troubadour on 12/11.

AG's "If So," meanwhile, is featured in EA's new FIFA '13 video game, but that will only be experienced by people who enjoy soccer. The Genius kids will drop a full-length album early next year.

Know who else comes from Down Under? Capitol PoMo rockers Gold Fields, that's who. Their "Dark Again (Lights Out)," from the band's eponymous EP, is getting love at Alt Nation, WRXP, WKQX, KITS, KCXX, WWCD, WROX and other alterna-stations.

The New York Times, RollingStone.com (which premiered the single), Nylon.com, HuffPo and Filter.com have led the critical Gold rush. Syncs have included NBC's new supernatural series 666 Park Ave. Male supermodel Shawn Ross stars in the video, which the group is shooting this week. A full-length is slated for release in February.
