TOP 40
It was a big week for Capitol, with three of the Top 10 Most Added including 5 Seconds of Summer’s “She Looks So Perfect,” My Crazy Girlfriend’s “Crazy Stupid Love” and Katy Perry’s “Birthday,” pre-impact. The remainder of the Most Added action is spread out among the labels. Columbia scores with DJ Snake & Lil Jon’s “Turn Down for What,” and Epic comes flying out of the box with KONGOS’ “Come with Me Now.” Warner Bros. is back for another week with Nico & Vinz’s “Am I Wrong,” Def Jam makes the list for a fifth week with Iggy Azalea f/Charli XCX’s “Fancy” and RCA closes out the action with Magic!’s “Rude.”
RHYTHM
It was a slow week, but highlights included Childish Gambino's “3005” on Glassnote; he secured WJMN, KBBT, KKSS and KUBE among others! Other solid weeks were had by Republic’s SoMo with "Show Off", RCA's Tinashe with "2 On" f/ScHoolboy Q and Def Jam’s YG with "Who Do You Love" f/Drake, along with labelmate Iggy Azalea’s "Fancy."
ALTERNATIVE
On a day when no particular record separated from the pack, we have a bunch of really good records getting close-out adds. At Capitol, Beck's "Blue Moon" and Capital Cities’ "One Minute More" showed promise. Crush Music continues to impress with Big Data's "Dangerous." RCA closes out Bleachers’ "I Wanna Get Better," which arrives in the Top 10, and more close-out adds, including WRFF Philadelphia for Cage the Elephant's latest "Take It or Leave It." Over at Columbia, Foster the People starts to transition to "Best Friend," and MS MR had a nice day with "Think of You." Other records to watch are Thirty Seconds to Mars’ "Do or Die" and SomeKindaWonderful's "Reverse."
