What to Expect at Three Key Mediabase Formats

Buddy! We've got moon-men on the brain. Oh, and also the VMAs. Let's take a look at what next week's key Mediabase charts are likely to bring, featuring some artists who are sure to shine at the Forum on Sunday night.

TOP 40

Capitol's Sam Smith continues to hold the #1 spot this week with "Stay With Me," but the real chart story of the week surrounds Republic's first-week numbers on Taylor Swift's "Shake it Off." When all is said and done, it looks like a record-shattering 6500+ spin week. Meanwhile, it's a close call for the #10 slot, as Sia’s "Chandelier" (RCA) and Meghan Trainor’s "All About That Bass" (Epic) put up a good fight. "This Is How We Do," by Capitol's Katy Perry, has another 1000+ spin week and is quickly headed to the Top 20. Looking to chart this week are Mr Probz’s "Waves" (RCA) and MKTO’s "American Dream" (Columbia).

RHYTHM

Def Jam's Jeremih continues its torrid pace, and "Don't Tell 'Em" f/YG will be up over 650 spins again this week, holding at #1. "No Mediocre," by Grand Hustle/Columbia's T.I. f/Iggy Azalea, will be up over 500 spins, while Iggy f/Rita Ora’s "Black Widow" (Grand Hustle/Def Jam) looks to move into the Top 10. Republic has Nicki Minaj’s "Anaconda" poised to be the Most Increased track this week. They also have Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj’s "Bang Bang" and Drake’s "0-100" closing in quickly on the Top 15. John Legend’s "You and I" (Columbia), Meghan Trainor’s "All About That Bass" (Epic) and Rich Gang f/Young Thug & Rich Homie Quan’s "Lifestyle" (Republic) will all debut this week.

ALTERNATIVE

This week's Modern Rock Top 10 looks identical to last week's. Vance Joy will remain at #1 with his hit, "Riptide." Columbia’s Hozier continues his march to the Top 10 with "Take Me to Church," as this smash moves to #12. This week’s big moves come from Warner Bros.; Death From Above 1979's "Trainwreck 1979" (Last Gang/WB) moves from #35-27 and the Black Keys’ latest, "Gotta Get Away" (Nonesuch/WB), will make an impressive chart entrance at #29.
