VIBE-RATERS: FROM FLORIDA TO PHOENIX TO THE WORLD!

Four Acts Enter the Vibra-Dome for a
Grande Cup of Awesome
This week's Vibe-Raters debutantes cover an array of genres, and their names conjure a virtual itinerary. Which makes sense, because they're all going places.

First up, with a big #5 Vibe bow: Republic Nashville's Florida Georgia Line, whose infectious "Cruise" features guest Nelly. That's right: It's good-time country with a twist of party-hardy hip-hop, and it's un-freakin'-deniable. These recent ACM New Artist winners are crossing to Pop bigtime, cruising onto Sirius XM Hits 1 and 20 on 20, WTMX, KHKS, KHMX, WWPW, WBMX, KDWB, KSTP, WFLZ, WZFT and many more. Digital sales on the single, meanwhile, can fairly be described as explosive.

Another track, "Get Your Shine On," retains its glimmer at Country radio, as does FGL's album, Here's to the Good Times, which streeted in December and is already gold. The group's touring nationally through October. Yee to the haw!

Next comes Glassnote's PoMo quartet Phoenix, whose beguiling track "Entertainment" nears Top 10 status at Alternative with Top 5 Greatest Gainer spins over the past week. The band's in Power rotation at LIVE 105, KNRK, Sirius XM Alt Nation, WBOS and more. Rate The Music, meanwhile, yields Top 5 research with Men 18-24. And last week's SNL performance sets the stage for the release of their new full-length, Bankrupt!, on 4/23. Phoenix's U.S. tour, including Coachella, comes next.

"The Way" is the Top 40 juggernaut from Republic pop siren and Nickelodeon star Ariana Grande, who went to the hoop with the #1 iTunes spot following a crucial hand-off from Ryan Seacrest. Now she's showing radio "The Way," with mad love from Sirius XM Hits 1, WNOW, KIIS, KAMP, WBBM, KMVQ, KYLD, KHKS, KKHH, much more. The video's on Teen Nick and MTV Hits, and has racked up a Way-impressive 8.5 million VEVO views in just one week.

Those wishing to bask in this rising star's presence should make their way to Wango Tango on 5/11. Not surprisingly, Ariana's getting Grande press adoration, including EW, Seventeen, Tiger Beat and an Access Hollywood segment. (In an unrelated development, our own Todd Hensley appears in the new issue of Goat Beat. Avert your eyes.)

Finally, there's the charming story of an indie pop-rock duo, A Great Big World, whose love-at-first-listen track "This Is the New Year" (Black Magnetic) is Top 40's new crush. It's already won over Sirius XM 20 on 20, WNCI, WDZH, KSLZ, WXXL, WHYI, WKRZ and WNOK and others.

After 1m+ VEVO views, their clip has passed the 200k mark at YouTube, they've done an online perf for Ryan Seacrest, they won a spot on EW's "Bullseye" trend radar, and the group's already hit a major pop-culture milestone with a Glee cover. Promos on the Golf Channel are also getting them on the green. The World will tour the country from 5/21-6/6; look for a full-length release this summer.

In Vibe-vet news, Mercury/IDJ's Jake Bugg is getting a burst from a Gatorade sync for second track "Lightning Bolt," which is scaring up new AAA and PoMo action.

Whew! After all that, we need to head over to Santa Monica and spark a blunt. You know, for our legitimate medical condition.
